NOVEMBER 2011

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Exciting news is that I am now with manager Jeff Martin at LSW-NYC for representation. I have my own dedicated page on the LSW-NYC website at www.lsw-nyc.com/Michele.html Check it out!

The new webseries Disciplinary Actions had its pilot premier in Atlanta at the Urban Mediamakers Film Festival in October and is currently back in post-production becoming even more fabulous. The premier is scheduled for January 2012. I'll keep you all updated!

I have been spending the last couple of months in career coaching with the exceptional Dallas Travers, learning to love the business end of the business and expand my comfort zone. I'm proud to say I've made an incredible Quantum Leap with Dallas' and my spiritual teacher, Lynn V. Andrews' guidance and encouragement.

I now keep my supporters updated via a monthly e-mail newsletter called Art and Spirit. If you would like to join the mailing list, please shoot me an e-mail with your name and e-mail address at athenamorgen@gmail.com.

AUGUST 2011

Catch up time! In February, I began private study with acting master teacher Ruth Kulerman, learning the British approach to acting. This has been incredibly fun and challenging, and I have had to unlearn some particularly bad habits while tackling a technique that values text, language and imagination first instead of swimming in personal emotions. I also started private vocal study with Adam Roebuck and discovered the joys of singing. All my one-on-one coaching has been hard, rewarding work and I’m motivated more than ever to bring it to the table. No one else is going to!

In April, I was asked to join the board of directors of a new theatre company, The Ensemble Theatre Company of New York. We are currently fundraising for our inaugural production, Diversions & Delights, on IndieGoGo. But the most exciting event so far with TETCNY has been our fundraiser with legendary British actor Sir Derek Jacobi in June. Sir Derek is an honorary board member and supporter of TETCNY, and it was a joy to host a meet-and-greet evening with him after he had just finished his run at Brooklyn Academy of Music in King Lear. What a gracious man!

In both May and June, I performed at Directing Actors Gym with guest directors Tony Clomax and Gary King. As always, DAG was hosted by Miles Maker and awesome to participate in performing. Stills from both Gyms appear on my On The Set page.

Though One Night Stand ended up not being shot, Tony Clomax brought me in for a supporting role in the webseries Disciplinary Actions, which is scheduled to be released online in October.

Last but not least, over this summer I’ve been fortunate enough to work with three fabulous career coaches - Kathryn Rae Furrow, Herschel H. Zand and Dallas Travers - and have learned some amazing ways on becoming not only the best actor I can be, but how to be the best business person in order to be that amazing actor. I feel blessed to be able to have such support in my career!

NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2010

Happy Holidays to everyone and may you have a prosperous and vibrant 2011!

5 Days Into Madness has a new draft and another table read scheduled for December 15th as we head toward mounting a staged reading directed by Jonathan Libman.  The new draft is much tighter and has added more dimension and conflict to the main characters. So happy to be part of this process!

Directing Actors Gym went fabulously on October 24th with guest director Attika Torrence.  What fun!  One Night Stand by Race Brown has been chosen to be shot as a short film directed by Tony Clomax and I look forward to auditioning in January.

SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2010

Performing at the Directing Actors Gym relaunch on October 24th at the National Comedy Theatre in Manhattan in the scene "One Night Stand" by Race Brown.  It's hilarious!  And will be livestreamed starting at 2 pm ET.

Asked to be part in the development of a new play, 5 Days Into Madness.  I'm playing six roles in the staged reading which will go up in November.  Had a table read with the director and cast (on my birthday!) and I'm looking forward to the next phase.

Many auditions (and a callback) since the beginning of September!  Glad to see things are picking up.  And those new headshots are working!

AUGUST 2010

Chose my new headshots from a terrific shoot with Audrey Foto and makeup artist Misty Easler.  A great combo of looks from fresh, young mom to sharp, smart detective to don't-mess-with-me siren.

I've begun research for my story for a feature film screenplay.  I have two stories and am focusing on the more quirky of the pair, which has a "film-within-film" element to it.  I'm an excellent prose writer -- translating story to dialog should be interesting, to say the least!

On a disappointing note, Three Houses is not moving forward as a film with the cast of the gossip trailer.  In fact, the gossip trailer is not going to be completed at this juncture.  But Three Houses as script has been zooming ahead with interest from various parties.  So, a big congratulations to screenwriter and actor Seth Ruffer and all the best for the future of a great script!

JUNE 2010

The gossip trailer for Three Houses was shot the end of April and is currently in post-production.  I'm looking forward to the screening, which is projected tentatively for sometime within the next month.

Joan Rivers' Great Hair Day is showing all over the country on all major markets now.  I finally saw the complete 30 minutes and am pleased with the amount of time I have on screen.  Most of it is my interview but there's one small segment with Joan where she is talking with the other model I was paired with.  Excellent exposure and I am looking to have a short commercial reel cut.

On June 20th, I will be performing in the Directing Actors TV 1st Anniversary performance at National Comedy Theatre in Manhattan.  This event will be streamed via  http://www.livestream.com/directingactors.  I am honored to be chosen as one of the featured actors and I tip my hat to Miles Maker for creating this amazing forum for actors, directors, producers and writers to come together.

APRIL 2010

Since February 20th, Joan Rivers Great Hair Day infomercial has been on the air on both network and cable stations throughout the U.S.  I'm really happy with how I am featured in the commercial and how much air time I have.  Good times!  You can catch the first 10-minute segment of the 30-minute commercial here on YouTube.

I have my own fan page on Facebook that I'm dedicating solely to my acting endeavors (no, you won't have to listen to my political and social rants on here!).  Check it out  here and become a FAN!

On March 11th, the cast of Three Houses had its first reading of the script for a small, select audience of industry folks and family/friends.  The large cast of the film met as a whole for the first time and got to hear our characters' lives come to life through our reading.  It was fantastic!  The promotional trailer for Three Houses is scheduled to shoot April 23-April 26th.  The energy of this project is amazing.  We've got a special project going on here!

On March 21st, I performed at the Directing Actors TV Gym, streamed live.  As always, it was a fascinating mix of actors, directors, writers and casting directors coming together to witness strong work.  Every three weeks at National Comedy Theatre in Manhattan.  Keep up to date through the Facebook page and on Twitter.

JANUARY 2010

Lots of exciting news for a new year!

I've been cast in the role of Kristi McKay in the independent feature film "Three Houses", written/produced by Seth Ruffer of CineMoJo Media and directed by Miles Maker.  We will be shooting the trailer in Feb/March and doing a table read sometime afterwards.  Seth is looking to shoot later in 2010.  It's exciting to be involved at this level of development with a project and I have great respect for both Seth and Miles.  The cast so far is terrific!!

I've also been cast in a "guest star" role for a 4-5 episode arc in Miles Maker's original web series, "Bedfellow Society" premiering on Mobisoaps.tv by Smartmobile Pictures this Spring/Summer.  We should be shooting sometime in March.

Auditioned for a PSA for Strickman-Ripps Casting.  Was referred to audition for a replacement for the original play "The Ex-Cycle", but unfortunately, this was non-Equity.

I'm performing on February 7th at Directing Actors Gym at National Comedy Theater in Midtown.  This will be my third performance at Directing Actors Gym, created by director Miles Maker, since September.  DAG is a fabulous opportunity for actors, directors and writers to get together, workshop new material, and stretch as artists.  I've met some amazing people at the Gym and am now getting work directly from it.  Can't ask for anything better!!

AUGUST 2009

BOOKED!  Shooting an infomercial with the iconic Joan Rivers on August 12th to promote her new hair product.  This will be a fun shoot, I'm sure!

Auditions the last few months include two separate auditions (and a callback) for The Onion News Network, auditions for an infomerical at Impossible Casting, the staged reading of "Mommy In Manhattan", the indie film "A Precious Life" and several Columbia and NYU graduate student films.

Writing a feature-length screenplay entitled On The Road With Oscar.

NOVEMBER 2008

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!  May blessings and peace come to our nation and world.

Attended the
"I'll Replace You" opening - the film is terrific and I particularly enjoyed the photograph wall showing Jennifer with an endless replacement of Kevin and Kevin with an endless replacement of Jennifer.  Jennifer said she and Kevin were still working on the individual sculptures of the actors in the film and that they would be added later.  It was a great experience to have worked with Jennifer and Kevin in a different milieu than the usual.  As soon as I have some footage from the film, I'll post....I promise!

Press releases for "I'll Replace You" - check them out!  From
ArtCal and from Chelsea Art Galleries.  The exhibit photo from the Chelsea Art Galleries release features me in the last frame...yes, it's small, but that's me!

The opening at Postmasters Gallery is on November 22nd from 6-8 pm, 459 W. 19th Street at 10th Avenue, New York, NY and the show runs until January 11, 2009.  See you at the opening!!

"I'll Replace You" now opening at
Postmasters Gallery on November 22, 2008 from 6 - 8 pm.  See you there!

OCTOBER 2008

Performed in the NY Actors Marathon event from TAM and had a great time meeting top agents and casting directors, leading to being called in by casting directors Amy Gossels and Meredith Jacobson Marciano from Amerifilm Casting.

SEPTEMBER 2008

"I'll Replace You" shot in September and the installation will open at the
